Fire Rope

Vitcas® Fire Rope is manufactured from textured glass fibre yarn which is knitted and used for sealing and jointing purposes where a temperature resistance is required. It is commonly used when jointing flue systems to the appliance and also as a seal around the inside of stove doors. Rated to 550°C. To be used with Vitcas® Rope Adhesive.

Easy installation of stove rope

One of the primary purposes of fire rope is to provide a secure and heat-resistant seal between components, preventing the escape of gases, smoke, or heat. This makes it an essential component in maintaining the efficiency and safety of flue pipe systems and stove installations.

Installation of fire rope is typically done using a specialised rope glue or adhesive, such as Vitcas® Rope Adhesive which is good value and easy to use. The adhesive creates a strong bond between the rope and the desired surface, ensuring a long-lasting and effective seal. Proper installation and use of fire rope and adhesive contribute to airtightness, minimising heat loss and maximising energy efficiency.

New fire rope for old stove doors

Fire rope is commonly used to create a tight seal around the inside of stove doors. Over time, the original rope seal may wear out or become less effective, resulting in heat loss and decreased stove efficiency. Regularly inspect the condition of the rope seal and replace it, if necessary. Remove the old rope and clean the surface before installing the new fire rope seal. Ensure a snug fit to prevent air leaks and improve the overall performance of the stove.

Remember to use fire rope specifically designed to withstand the very high temperatures experienced in the stove.
