High temperature thermal textiles
High Temperature Thermal Textiles - Flexible Heat-Resistant Solutions
Vitcas® High Temperature Thermal Textiles are engineered for use in demanding thermal environments where flexibility, movement, and reliable heat insulation are essential. Manufactured from heat-resistant materials such as glass fibre and high-purity silica, these textiles are processed into woven, knitted, braided, or needled formats, offering versatility across a wide range of industrial and domestic applications.
Our range of heat resistant textiles includes:
- Glass Fibre Cloth - Available in standard and tight weave forms. The looser weave is ideal for thermal curtains and flexible covers, while the tighter weave is suited for close-fitting jackets, pipe wraps, and insulation blankets. Coatings such as graphite and vermiculite are applied to enhance thermal resistance, abrasion resistance, and chemical durability.
- Silica Cloth - Designed for extreme temperatures, silica fabric provides superior thermal insulation and is widely used in protective clothing, welding curtains, molten metal splash screens, expansion joints, and filter media in aggressive high-temperature environments.
- High-temperature sewing threads available in para-aramid / kevlar, glass fibre, wire-reinforced fibreglass, and silica fibre, offering excellent mechanical strength, flame resistance, and durability for stitching, repairing, and assembling thermal insulation textiles used in extreme industrial environments.
- Thermal Ropes and Tapes - Manufactured from braided or knitted glass fibre yarns. Used for sealing furnace doors, stove gaskets, boiler access panels, flue pipe joints, and industrial ovens. Thermal fire ropes are available in soft and firm options to accommodate specific sealing requirements.
- Needled Felt Mats - Non-woven glass fibre mats offering excellent acoustic and thermal insulation properties. Suitable for high-temperature applications in power generation, petrochemical plants, and metal processing industries.
- Pre-formed Components - Including glass fibre cable and hose sleeving for thermal protection in mechanical and electrical assemblies, and flue insulation wraps for domestic stove flue systems (sized 125-200 mm / 5"-8").
Key Features:
- High thermal resistance (up to 1000°C for glass fibre, 1100°C+ for silica)
- Excellent mechanical strength and flexibility
- Resistant to thermal shock, abrasion, and chemical attack
- Customisable with coatings for enhanced performance
- Suitable for static and dynamic thermal insulation
