Chemically Bonded Dry Rams
These products are supplied in a semi-dry condition with moisture content of approx 3%. Installation is by ramming either pneumatic or vibration, although they can also be hand rammed. It is essential that these dry rams are rammed hard and dense. Due to the low moisture content a very dense refractory can be achieved which can be easily dried with very little shrinkage. If dried at a temperature up to 900°C a good ceramic bond can be obtained. These products are very stable at high temperatures. After drying it is advisable to coat with Vitcas® Zircon Paint, this will ensure a good non wetting surface and will ease slag removal.
