guaranteed high quality Fire Cement the best on the market.

What is Fire Cement and What Is It Used For?

Vitcas_Premium_Fire_CementIn certain areas within our home and even outside, the temperature is quite high. The areas where the fireplaces, ovens, boilers and cooking ranges are placed would be the places where there would be the highest temperatures. In these areas, it becomes necessary to use a material which is fire resistant since all other types of materials would prove to be useless. Fire resistant material would be able to provide protection to areas which are exposed to high heat and thus would be able to protect them from high heat. Fire cement is one such material which is ideal for use in such areas. It is a ready to use, fine material which would dry up and provide protection to the areas where it would be applied. Fire cement can be used for repairing and patching boilers, ranges, ovens, fireplaces etc.

The Main Characteristics of Fire Resistant Cement

Given below are some of the main characteristics of fire cement:

·         Easy to use material

·         Provides extremely tight joints to fumes and smoke

·         When allowed to dry and exposed to heat, it strengthens and becomes a very hard seal

·         It has very strong properties of adhesive even at very high temperatures

·         Can be used on a variety of surfaces wherever there is high amount of heat

How to Use Fire Cement? Preparing the Surface

Using fire cement is actually not very difficult since the fire cement which is available in the market today is all ready to use. The surface where the fire cement has to be applied should be dry, clean and free of any type of dust. Remove all rust and dirt in order to get the best results. The fire cement can be mixed with water if it is dry and can be applied on the surface with the help of a knife or a trowel. Apply proper pressure to secure all the components. Allow the cement to dry naturally so that it can harden.

How to Achieve the Perfect Finish with Fire Cement?

For the perfect finish apply gentle heat on the repaired surface and increase the level of heat gradually over the next 3 to 4 hours. If there are any fire cracks, apply more cement to ensure a very tight seal and repair. Once this is done you would have a very clean finish. The tools can be cleaned in warm water and the leftover cement should be placed in a tub and closed with a tight lid.

The Main Limitations of Fire Resistant Cement

Some of the main limitations of fire cement is that until it is heated up properly above 500 degrees, it would not be water resistant. It can also not be used for rendering. Ensure that it doesn’t come in contact with your eyes since it can be irritating to the eyes and throat. Wear proper eye protection and gloves when using this cement.

Sealing / Luting Compound - Premium 1P

Vitcas® Premium 1P is a sealing compound for use in the manufacture or relining of bearings with white metal.  During the casting of white metal, whether by the centrifugal or static method, many parts have to be stopped off to prevent access of white metal, e.g. base of bearing, header ring, oil and dowel holes etc.  Premium 1P has been specifically developed for this application and sets hard when heat is applied and resists attack from white metal satisfactorily.

Premium 1P is easy to apply and, whilst adhesion to the hot jig or mandrel is excellent, it will not stick to the gloves, thus facilitating an easy sealing operation.

Vitcas® Premium 1P will stop white metal leaks instantly.

One major advantage of Premium 1P is that once it has served its purpose and the white metal has solidified, it is comparatively easy to remove by normal machining methods.  This is a rather important property which is achieved by carefully selecting the fillers and the concentration of bond.  Other fire cement grades have been used for this application in the past and, whereas they sealed quite satisfactorily, they were very difficult to remove afterwards by normal machine tools.   This sealing process is often referred to as luting and, therefore, Premium 1P can be regarded as a luting compound. It is important to note that, although Premium 1P was primarily developed as a sealing compound against white metal, there are certainly many other sealing and masking applications to which Premium 1P is equally applicable.

Premium 1P must be –thoroughly dried before white metal is poured;stored in a sealed container preferably in a cool place;

Premium 1P is   packed in 10Kg polythene containers

Heat Resistant Silicone Sealant

Vitcas® Heat Resistant Silicone is one component silicone sealant for high temperature applications.  This high quality product is ready to use one part acid curing silicone sealants. The applied sealant reacts with atmospheric moisture to produce a highly elastic silicone rubber.

Vitcas® Heat Resistant Silicone is specifically designed and recommended for high temperature applications up to 300 °C.

It has excellent adhesion to most building materials, including:

  •  glass and glazed surfaces
  •  enamel
  • ceramics
  • impregnated and painted wood
  •  wood
  • most plastics

Benefits

  • High temperature resistance
  • Excellent adhesion to most building materials
  • Easy application
  • Excellent physical properties: forms a durable, flexible joint, unaffected by exposure to sunlight, snow and ozone and   remains resistant for many years

Rapid Setting Cement-Rapidcas N20

Rapid Setting High Strength Cement

Rapid Setting Cement - Rapidcas N20 is a special formulated sand/cement mix which is easy to use and trowel and designed to set hard in about 60 minutes. Rapidcas N20 is satisfactory for even the most arduous conditions e.g. open to traffic within 2 hours. It has good bonding strength especially when used in conjunction with a polymer primer which can also be used to advantage as a 10% addition to the mixing water.

Typical compressive strengths for:

RAPIDCAS N20N/mm
3 hours24
6 hours28
24 hours32

Rapid Setting Cement N20 also meets the DOT directive for Roads and Bridges HD 27/94 VOL 7 Sec. 2: Mortars for bedding iron work such as manhole cover frames during repairs may be trafficked when the strength is expected to be 20 N/mm. For rapid construction this strength should be achieved within 2 hours.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS FOR RAPID SETTING CEMENT N20

  • Setting manhole frames and street furniture.
  • Setting kerbstones.
  • Setting handrails, posts and signs.
  • Filling cracks and holes in walls and floors.
  • Sealing joints in drains and pipes, cracks and repairs to ponds and pools.
  • Fish stock should be protected by coating the repair with a suitable pool paint before re-filling.
  • Repairing damaged concrete, masonry, paths, steps, garage runways etc.
  • Grouting bolts and fixings.
