Zircon Refractory Paint Coating

Zircon Refractory Coating - High-Temperature Protection for Glass and Metal Contact

Zircon paint coating

Vitcas® Zircon-based refractory coating is designed for use in extreme high-temperature environments up to 1750°C (3180°F). It offers outstanding resistance to alkali attack from molten glass and metal slags, particularly in aluminium alloy processing. With excellent non-wetting properties, it minimises chemical interaction with molten metals and may reduce corundum build-up in refractory linings.
This zircon coating is compatible with both refractory bricks and alumino-silicate monolithic linings, delivering a reliable protective barrier in the most aggressive operating conditions.

Examples of Applications:

  • Aluminium industry: Applied on ladles, launders, and furnace linings for handling molten aluminium and its alloys
  • Glass industry: For direct contact with molten glass in tanks, channels, and forehearths
  • Ceramic fibre protection: Used to seal and reinforce ceramic fibre linings, preventing fibre release into the workspace
  • General high-temperature linings: Enhances corrosion and slag resistance of monolithic or pre-fired surfaces

Vitcas® Zircon Refractory Coating is available in ready-mixed form or as a dry powder to be mixed with water. It can be applied by brush or spray, depending on the application area and method of installation.
